What is Mrs. Huegel reading?
THE MAZE RUNNER by JAMES DASHNER
OK, I have to admit, this was my second try on reading this book. I started it reading it at the beginning of this school year and just could not get in to it...but I had heard such great things from others who have read it, that I felt I needed to give it another chance. I am so glad I did--this time I could not put the book down! The first few chapters of the book can be a bit confusing because the main character, Thomas, has lost his memory and ends up in a place different than our world and with a language of it's own. Thomas struggles to understand what has happened to him and why he has ended up in this place. None of the other boys seem to know why they are there either, but they know they need to solve "the maze" to have any chance of escape. Thomas feels like he is destined to be a "maze runner", but will this lead him to a way out or way into trouble? I recommend you read The Maze Runner and find out for yourself!
